City Sand Leagues: summer ‘26

  • The women’s action lives here! Play with your friends and against your friends: there’s an awesome community of female players here. We typically see about 24 teams register.

    This league is laddered, so you’ll play against similarly skilled teams all summer.

  • Monday men’s league is a vibe! This is a night of quality volleyball. Compete with your friends and enjoy the hangs that follow. Most summers we see around 16 teams register.

    This league is laddered, so you’ll play against similarly skilled teams all season.

  • Co-ed on Fridays has an awesome social energy. Mix and mingle, play some great ball, and start your weekend the best way possible. This night usually fills quickly, with room for 20 teams.

    This league is laddered, so you’ll play against similary skilled teams all summer.

    Gender ratio is 2:2.

Important Stuff:

  • City Sand operates on the 10 beach courts at the North London Athletic Fields

    12 WEEK OVERVIEW:

    • The first 2 weeks of league use a “win move up, lose move down” system to help ensure your team is beginning the season in the correct pool.

    • Beginning week 3, you’ll be placed in a pool (based on your weeks 1+2 results) where you’ll spend 3 weeks matching up against the other teams in your pool.

    • There are 3 total blocks of pool play, each of them 3 weeks longs.

    • Playoffs happen on one night: Aug. 21st for Fridays and August 24th for Mondays.

    DEEPER DIVE:

    Weeks 1 + 2 Ladder: These first 2 nights, you’ll move up a court if you win your first match and down a court if you lose. These results will land you in a pool: A, B, C, etc. beginning week 3.

    Weeks 3, 4, 5: Our first block of pool play! At the end of this 3 week block, your team will either move up a pool, down a pool, or remain in the same pool, all based on your wins/losses.

    Weeks 6, 7, 8: Our second block of pool play! At the end of this 3 week block, your team will either move up a pool, down a pool, or remain in the same pool, all based on your wins/losses. ⚠️The pool you head into from here is the pool you’ll play in for playoffs.

    Weeks 9, 10, 11: Our final block of pool play, and a really important one ⚠️! This is the pool you’ll remain in for playoffs. Where you finish in this pool will dictate your playoff match for week 12.

    Week 12: Playoffs! Everyone is guaranteed at least one playoff match.

    (psst: the number of teams in each pool is entirely dependant on registration numbers. We’ll communicate this once the dust settles on team registrations)

  • You’ll play two matches against two different teams each night. Plan for about 90 minutes of total gameplay .

    Monday start times are 6pm + 7:30 ‍

    • 🚨As we near the end of July, game start time shift to 15 minutes earlier toward to accommodate the setting sun.

    Friday night games are at 6:30pm, all summer long.

  • $800/team + hst

    📣🐦: Early Bird (until March 15th) $750/team + hst

  • City Sand games are played at the North London Athletic Fields. Located in London’s core, it boasts 10 Hutcheson Olympic Sand courts, and is right off the Thames Valley Parkway - making it accessible to players by bike or foot.

    There are washrooms and a water fountain.

    🙌 A new footwash station is coming this season!

    This is a multi-sport park and parking can be tight. If you’re able to walk or ride your bike, do so!

  • We don’t have an official sign up for solo players hoping to join a team, but reach out and we’ll do our best to help you connect with others looking to play!
